Dave Czesniuk
Director of Operations
Dave Czesniuk joined Sport in Society in November 2004. He currently serves as director of operations. He oversees all Sport in Society programs as well as Strategic Communications, Research, and Advocacy departments.
Czesniuk worked as manager for Urban Youth Sports in partnerships and development. His primary responsibilities were overseeing the Athletes in Service to America program as well as the development of youth coach training materials. Additionally, through networking, fundraising and marketing, he helped provide the Urban Youth Sports staff with increased opportunities for the children they work with.
Prior to Sport in Society, from 1999-2004, he worked at the United States Military Academy at West Point as a performance enhancement consultant. In this capacity he conducted trainings and consultations with Division I Athletes to improve their athletic, academic, and leadership performances.
Between 2002-2004 Czesniuk doubled as an adjunct professor in the Physical Education Department at Marist College. For mulitple semesters he taught a course called Understanding the Mind in Sports. He also served as Leadership Seminar Chairperson for the Massachusetts Hugh O�Brien Youth Leadership Seminar, where he lead a team of 40 volunteers in all the fundraising, programming, and facilitation aspects of developing the seminar.
As part of his initial graduate school experience, Czesniuk worked as an intern at Sport in Society from 1997-1998 helping to conduct needs assessments, which lead to the creation of the Urban Youth Sports programs.
He is pursuing a master�s in business administration at Northeastern University. Through his previous education endeavors, He received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Marist College in 1998 and a master's degree in counseling from Marist in 1999. While at Marist he served as a manager and volunteer assistant coach for the Men�s Basketball Team. Czesniuk was co-captain of the Somerville High School Basketball Team in his senior year of 1994.
