Eli A. Wolff

Eli A. Wolff is a founding member and the current director of the Disability in Sport program within Center for the Study of Sport in Society. Wolff has also co-founded and co-develops the new Athletes for Human Rights initiative. Wolff engages in research, education, and advocacy activities related to the topics of disability in sport and human rights in and through sport.

Under the direction of Wolff, the Disability in Sport program helped to establish the ESPY for Best Male and Female Athlete with a Disability, and facilitates the NCAA Student-Athlete Disability Advisory Group. The Disability in Sport program is also working to draft the sporting text for the United Nations Disability Treaty, and coordinates the International Disability in Sport Working Group.

Wolff organized a brief for the Supreme Court, on behalf of the national disabled sports organizations, in support of Casey Martin for his case against the PGA. In 2001, Wolff received the first Casey Martin Award, given by Nike, recognizing an individual making a difference, internationally, for people with disabilities in sports.

In 2002, Wolff represented the United States Olympic Committee at the 2002 International Olympic Academy of the International Olympic Committee held in Olympia, Greece. From 2003 - present, Wolff has been invited to serve as a Discussion Group Coordinator at the International Olympic Academy.

Wolff was a member of the United States Soccer Team, competing in two Pan American Games, a World Cup, a World Championships as well as on the US Team in the 1996 and 2004 Olympic Games. Wolff competed with the Varsity soccer team in high school at Milton Academy in Massachusetts, and he trained with the Men's Varsity soccer team while attending Brown University in Rhode Island.

Wolff is a graduate of Brown University where he studied and received a B.A. with honors in Sociology and Organizational Management. Wolff is pursuing his PhD in the Law, Policy and Society program at Northeastern University.
