MVP Assistant Director (NCAS)


Carli Kyles is the Assistant Director of Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Program at Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society and the National Consortium for Academics and Sports.

The multi-racial, mixed gender MVP program is the first large scale attempt to enlist high school, collegiate and professional athletes in the fight against all forms of men's violence against women.

Women's Sports Foundation
During the summer of 1999, Kyles began to pursue her interests in athletic administration by interning at the Women's Sports Foundation in East Meadow, New York. At the Foundation, Kyles was the Community Action Programs Coordinator. There she helped girls' and women�s grassroots sport organizations across the country coordinate activities and events to promote and enhance sports opportunities for girls and women.

USC Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs
Kyles also served as a Program Director for the USC Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs and the President of the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Forum. She coordinated mentor-mentee relationships for new students, and cultural lectures and activities for the entire USC student body.

After graduating from USC, Kyles became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and worked as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at USC in 1997.

In 1998 she began graduate studies in Athletic and Education Administration at Washington State University.

Education
Kyles finished a Master of Education in Athletic Administration degree in December 1999.

She earned her graduate degree working as a Graduate Assistant Strength Coach for the WSU Athletic Department, coaching over 400 student-athletes in the Varsity Weight Room.

Kyles finished her undergraduate coursework at the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles, CA with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. At USC, Kyles was a varsity letterwinner as a sprinter on the Women's track team and a qualifier for the 1997 Pac-10 Conference Championship meet.

During her collegiate seasons, she also coached girls' high school track and field and instructed coaching clinics for the Amateur Athletic Foundation in Los Angeles, CA.
