Mentors in Violence Prevention Institute

(12-7-06) BOSTON, Mass. On January 22- 24, 2007, the Center for the Study of Sport in Society will be hosting its Mentors in Violence Prevention Program (MVP) Institute. The MVP Institute developed by Sport in Society motivates men and women to work together to prevent mens violence against women. Utilizing a unique bystander approach to prevention, the MVP Program views all people not as potential perpetrators or victims, but as empowered bystanders who can confront abuse.

The MVP Institute is a three-day interactive training designed for male and female adults, educators and youth service providers. The MVP Program seeks to end mens violence against women by having racially diverse teams of men and women working together on this issue.
