Keith Gilbert
Collaboration will focus on research presentations & publications in the areas of sport & human rights, and sport & social entrepreneurship. Work will intersect with the AHR area of the Center.
Gilbert has an extensive and impressive research portfolio in the area of sport management and sociology and has a strong interest in qualitative, interpretive and narrative research methodologies. He has numerous publications and has written and edited several books in the broad areas of sport management, sport sociology and cultural studies including: �Life on the Margins: Implications for Health Research�, �Sexuality, Sport and the Culture of Risk�, �Extending the Boundaries: Theoretical Frameworks for Research in Sports Management�, �Some Like It Hot: The Beach as a Cultural Dimension�, and recently texts in collaboration with Dr Vanda Fortunato �Reconstructing Lives: The Problem of Retirement from Elite Sport� and Dr Hafidz bin Haji Omar �Striving for Balance: Modernity and Elite Sport from an Islamic perspective. Professor Gilbert has been an Executive Board Member of the International Council of Sports Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) and has won awards in university teaching and professional development.
