Marisa
Petreccia is the Associate Director of the Athletes
in Service to America program at Northeastern University.
Petreccia is a former corps member who fulfilled a year
of service from 1996-97.
She
previously served as the site coordinator for the Northeastern
University Athletes in Service to America corps site
from 1999-2001.
Previous Experience
Prior
to coming to Athletes in Service to America, Petreccia
most recently held the position of Assistant Coach for the
Women's Basketball team at Northeastern. While providing
on-court instruction during team and individual practices,
she was responsible for various administrative duties. In
addition, Petreccia developed the first-ever team newsletter
publications.
Petreccia
also gained work experience from the Eastern College Athletic
Conference through the Bushnell internship program. Her
primary duties focused on athletic administration for ECAC
conference championships. Other work included many aspects
of public relations and compliance with NCAA legislation.
Education
A
graduate of Northeastern University, Petreccia received
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science with a
minor in Sociology.
Petreccia
is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Public Administration.
Personal
As
an undergraduate Petreccia was a four-year member of the
women's basketball team. In her senior year she served as
team captain and was selected the team's most valuable player.
A Dean's List student, she was also a North Atlantic Conference
Honor Roll member for two years.
