Assistant
Elisa Soltren serves as Sport in Society Aministrative Assistant.
She assist the Center with all receptionist duties and serves as an assistant
to Director Richard E. Lapchick and Senior
Associate Director Jose Masso.
Budget Assistant
Soltren
is also the Sport in Society Budget Assistant. In this capacity, she assist
Budget Director Stephen Gould with all financial
matters of the Center.
Inquilinos Boricuas
En Accion / Emergency Tenant Corporation (IBA/ETC)
Soltren is also the President of the Board of Directors of Inquilinos
Boricuas En Accion / Emergency Tenent Corporation (IBA/ETC). IBA is a
management company and community development corporation. Under the direction
of Soltren, IBA provide families, youth and the community with services,
including a technology center which trains members of the community.
The IBA was formed in 1960 in response to the Urban Renewel Project in Boston. The Tenants organized and fought against city hall for control over Parsel 9, located in Boston's South End.
The first of its kind, the IBA has been used as a model for all CDC's in the United States.
