Benjamin
A. Weiss serves as the Sport in Society Assistant to the
Director and Administrative Assistant
In
his role as the Assistant to Director, Weiss assists in
the grant writing process and continues to assist with special
events coordination. He has a myriad of event planning and
fundraising experience.
Weiss
previously served as the Sport in Society Special Events
Coordinator (2001-2002). As Special Events Coordinator,
Weiss was instrumental in the planning of the True
Heroes of Sport Banquet and the Massachusetts
Student-Athlete Citizenship Awards Ceremony both held
in April of 2002.
Volunteer Work
Weiss
is involved in the planning of The
Oldtime Baseball Game, a charity Baseball game held
every summer in Cambridge, MA. The Oldtime Baseball Game
benefits a different charity every year and 100% of all
funds raised go to the charity.
Recently,
Weiss was named Vice President of Fundraising for the Wareham
Gatemen of The
Cape Cod Baseball League.
Education
Weiss
is a 1999 graduate of Northeastern University where he majored
in Business Administration.
Weiss
is currently persuing a master's in business administration
from Northeastern University.
Personal
While at Northeastern, Weiss worked with both the Men's
and Women's Ice Hockey teams.
In
his spare time Ben umpires little league baseball (9-10
year olds) during the Spring and Summer months.
