Jessica Long was born February 29, 1992 in Russia. At thirteen months old she was adopted by the Long family and moved to the USA. Born without fibulas, ankles, heels and most of the other bones in her feet. At 18 months both legs were amputated below the knees. Swimming has always been a passion of hers, holding 11 American records, 2 Pan-American records. She has received 7 gold and 1 silver medal in national competitions.
