Scott Hollonbeck
Atlanta, GA.
Track and Field

Hollonbeck is a Paralympic athlete who has found great success in his respected sport of wheelchair racing. Scot was born in Rochelle, IL and currently works as a marketing and sales director. Additionally Scot is a professional wheelchair racer. Scott is the former word record holder in the 800m, 1500m, 1mile and 5K. His array of accomplishments, on a global level, began in the 1992 Paralympic Games where he won the gold medal in 800m and the silver medal in the 1500m. In the 1996 Paralympic Games, Hollonbeck took silver in the 1500m event and in the 2000 Games in Sydney he was a finalist. Scot is the only American athlete who has been a finalist in the past 3 Olympic 1500m-exhibition events. He is a former member of the University of Illinois Wheelchair Track and Field team.

Hollonbeck, a six time Olympic and Paralympic medalist, believes that it is through athleticism that the pervasive societal attitude, which often associates disability with inability, is being broken down. His purpose is to be an advocate for those with disabilities through sports.
