Athletes in Service

Often university athletic departments that are interested in performing community service activities lack a connection to the community. Athletes in Service (AIS) acts as an organizational resource for universities to connect student-athletes directly with underserved youth in the city. In addition, AIS suggests programming with activities specifically directed toward mentorship and physical activity. In its first year, the program introduced Northeastern University varsity teams to the community and engaged student-athletes in more than 5,000 combined hours of service in a wide-spectrum of service projects.
