Sport

Sport has unique influence and appeal in the world and is a powerful social phenomenon that cannot be underestimated. Sport can be utilized to bridge cultural gaps, resolve conflict, and educate human beings in ways that very few activities can. Sport can bond cities, countries and continents. Sport is an undeniably forceful vehicle for social change.

Sport is a common denominator between cultures that allows people to appreciate how much they have in common as opposed to what separates them.

Sport fosters healthy development both of the mind and body. Due to its power and centrality in our society, it is the chosen vehicle for promoting our core values and bringing attention to important social problems while fostering positive action and change.

Athletes serve as critical role models for youth and excellent teachers of these values. They benefit as well from collaboration on initiatives that improve opportunity and access for people, and peace and respect between individuals and within and between communities.
