Rhythm & Flow
Rhythm & Flow 12 Tenets
1. Rhythm & Flow aims to expose and analyze the intersection between music and sport in society.
2. By examining how the relationship affects society, we hope to become an advocate for social justice and equality while also helping to combat discrimination and disenfranchisement.
3. We will consider all societal factors involved in the relationship such as issues of gender, race, class, economic disenfranchisement, social disadvantage and will undertake taboo subjects in these grey areas.
4. We will examine norms, values, assumptions, and stereotypes in order to generate awareness and raise questions.
5. We hope to amplify and expose the world to these issues and become a hub for global discussion on these topics.
6. The knowledge accumulated by R&F; will be utilized for consulting with companies and organizations in order to help them better understand the significance of music and sport cultures and give them the tools to develop stronger strategies and ultimately succeed in their industries.
7. Rhythm & Flow will become a home for musicians and athletes who can come to us in order to receive information that will help them solidify their visions and morals while also helping them accomplish their goals and missions.
8. We will encourage the cross promotion and pollination in music and sport and spark creativity in both cultures.
9. Our method will take on a bystander approach that will primarily be objective but we will also expose any underlying philosophical or moral message where appropriate.
10. Research will be conducted through the deconstruction of language and images associated with music and sport.
11. We hope to assist those involved in any aspect of music and sport cultures to better understand the role, function, and effect of their work.
12. Rhythm & Flow will produce curriculum that will allow us to pass on the knowledge and aid other in doing so as well.
