Curriculum

The MVP curriculum is comprised of a series of educational units. Each unit consists of a single gender MVP Playbook scenario discussion followed by a mixed gender video clip discussion. Video clips are generally taken from popular culture and serve to further illustrate the topic covered in the scenario discussion. During a full training, MVP facilitators use additional exercises to open dialogue and introduce different facilitation and learning styles. These exercises break up the training and open dialogue in a variety of ways.

The MVP curriculum is adaptable enough to fit various scheduling needs. MVP representatives can conduct trainings ranging from 90-minute awareness-raising sessions to a full training program (22 hours for high school students, three full-day intensive for colleges/universities). For the program to be most effective for participants we recommend scheduling a full training. To discuss scheduling and training possibilities, please contact an MVP representative (link is to information below).

The MVP Playbook

The MVP Playbook consists of a series of real-life school and social scenarios ranging from sexual harassment to a potential rape involving alcohol. During interactive sessions, the MVP staff uses the Playbook to spark discussions that convey concrete options for non-abusive men and empowered women to interrupt, confront, and prevent violence by their friends, peers, or teammates.

MVP Playbooks are designed for use in a variety of communities (high schools, colleges/universities, professional organizations, etc.) and scenarios are written from the unique perspective of each community we work with.
