Lexington, Kentucky Lexington, Kentucky is the horse capital of the world and the heart of bluegrass country. It is one of the largest and wealthiest towns west of the Allegheny Mountains.

There are more than 3,000 acres in Fayette County, where Lexington is located, designed as park facilities. The area is noted for its beauty, fertile soil, and excellent pastureland. Within Lexington there are over 30 attractions from chocolate factories to Saddlebred museums.

Lexington is the ideal place to shop for antiques and crafts. It is also the place to find both unique and typical style restaurants where gourmet and ethnic specialties are prepared.

University of Kentucky is ranked within America’s top 100 best public schools. The school hosts many cultural events and sporting events with a proud Wildcat mascot. The vision of UK is to be one of the nation’s twenty best public research universities. UK has also been rated one of the 100 best colleges for African American students. With UK located in the center of Lexington, its natural beauty can be appreciated during day trips off of the campus.
