If you are a former student-athlete, with at least two years of participation in a varsity sport, and want to use your athletic experience to positively impact the lives of urban youth and change your own life, then you may be interested in joining our team. At Athletes in Service to America, we are looking for individuals who are willing to commit to a year of service and want to be part of a team that will work collaboratively to empower urban youth to live healthier and more productive lives.

What You Get Out of a Year of Service:

Get an education, experience, and skills.

You'll learn teamwork, communication, responsibility, and other essential skills that will help you for the rest of your life. And you'll gain the personal satisfaction of taking on a challenge and seeing results. Get ready for a year of service that will leave a lasting impact on you and the community, and an experience that will change your life!

As an AIS corps member you will get extensive training in many areas that will prepare you to serve in local public schools provding structured physical activity opportunities. Additionally, you will receive training in issue areas that will provide you with the skills to deliver “life-skills” workshops. Prior to beginning your service in the schools, members go through orientation and training, with professional development planned throughout the year. Examples of training that you will receive:
