The MVP Program is a gender violence prevention and education program that seeks to empower high school student leaders to reduce the level of men's violence against women.

Dr. Gail Dines, Professor of Sociology and Chair of Women's Studies, Wheelock College , led the provocative keynote presentation. The topic of her presentation was "Sexy or Sexist: Images of Women and Men in the Media."

The MVP Youth Leadership Conference will be an intensive day centered upon interactive education and leadership development. After Dines presentation, the high school students broke up into smaller groups of approximately 25 people and participated in a 70-minute workshop with MVP training specialist. The topic of the workshops was: Activism in Your School and Beyond: Strategies for Success.

The event was kicked off by a spoken word performance by one of Boston's up-and-coming young artists, Iyeoka Okoawo.Okoawo performed "She Does Not Know Her Beauty" and "Shout." Her moving words captivated the audience of young men and women.
